Scott Cooley

Scott Cooley founded Indevtech, a Honolulu IT company, in 2001 — one year out of high school and still an undergraduate. What began as a one-person shop now looks after Honolulu’s top-tier professional firms and some of Hawai‘i’s most beloved flagship brands. He is a former flight instructor, a returning golfer carrying an honest 30 handicap, a jazz drummer since middle school, and five months into a two-hundred-year project growing bonsai. They’re ficus. They live on his desk. He hasn’t killed one yet.

He is also the editor-in-chief of The Bishop Street Letter, Indevtech’s quarterly publication — essays and field notes on technology, the long view, and what twenty-five years in this work has taught him. It’s edited from the corner of Bishop and Queen, which is also where the name comes from.

Tuesday Person is not his first book, but it is the first one he’s published. It is about two dogs who have never explained anything to him and never will — and about the difference between the days we perform and the days that were already enough. He is, by his own family’s ranking, not the smartest one in his household. The dogs are unavailable for comment.

The book is free. Always. He made it that way on purpose, so it wouldn’t turn into a thing.
